‘I started playing Open Mics in Cirencester when I retired, first at the Nelson (RIP) in Gloucester Street and the old Vaults on Beeches Road. The musical talent in and around this town is amazing and I’ve been helped and encouraged by many great players on the local scene. So it’s nice to give a little bit back to the town and to the young people who are helped by CHYP. Eleven original songs. It’s basically acoustic guitar and voice, more or less in the folk tradition, some serious and some less so, a couple of movers, a couple in Russian(!), one about Dmitri Shostakovich (with orchestra) and a song inspired by being in the Dog House at Corinium Breweries. Includes a booklet of the lyrics (and translations). Recorded and produced in South Cerney and mastered in Cirencester, featuring local musicians Dan Billing on bass, Richard Lloyd on keyboard piano, Clive Perkins on harmonica and Steve Rogerson on drums‘ .
